Robert H. Kuehn, Jr. Award

Presented to Overlook Associates and Nobis Engineering for The Nobis Engineering Building in Lowell, Massachusetts by PreservationMass, the statewide preservation advocacy agency.  This award recognizes the cutting edge ideas for the rehabilitation and active use of historic buildings that transformed the Davis and Sargent Building into an economic driver, environmental leader, and energy efficient office in the City of Lowell.

J. Timothy Anderson Award for Excellence in Historic Rehabilitation

The Davis and Sargent Building was selected as one of three national finalists for the 2009 “Timmy” Award presented by the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association for the Best Historic Rehabilitation Using New Markets Tax Credits.

National Trust for Historic Preservation 2008 National Preservation Award

Presented for the Washington Mills Building No. 1 in Lawrence, Massachusetts.  As Lawrence’s first major housing development in over 20 years, the building has been transformed into loft-style, mixed-housing apartments, bringing new life and the promise of spin-off development to the community.

National Preservation Awards are awarded each year by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to celebrate the best of preservation by individuals and organizations whose contributions demonstrate excellence in historic preservation.

Massachusetts Historical Commission 1991 Preservation Award

Presented to Lanie Finbury for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to preservation in Massachusetts with the rehabilitation of McKeen Memorial Hall at Abbot Academy in Andover. After merging with Phillips Academy and falling into disuse, Abbot Academy was saved from demolition and now provides multi-family housing to the community.

Massachusetts Historical Commission Preservation Awards honor outstanding citizens whose preservation work has protected the Commonwealth’s historic assets, revitalized its neighborhoods, added to the revenues of its cities and towns, and preserved the character of its communities.

Paul E. Tsongas Profiles in Preservation Award

Presented to Lanie Finbury, Principal of Overlook Associates by Preservation Massachusetts, the commonwealth’s preservation advocacy agency. This award recognizes “individuals who have played an integral role in promoting the preservation of our commonwealth’s history for the betterment of the future.” Lanie was honored in the inaugural year of the award.
